MJS was privileged to attend the AMCAL Multi-Housing Grand Opening Ceremony for the Hollenbeck Terrace Apartments in Boyle Heights. The adaptive re-use of the historic Santa Fe Coast Lines Hospital into a housing community for 97 Seniors. Although originally built in 1905 and closed in 1991 this Building achieved LEED Gold Certification. MJS is please to have designed outdoor Courtyards, Barbecue Terrace and community Gardens for the Seniors to interact. In addition to the Hospital, MJS collaborated on the adjacent Nurses Building transforming these previous dormitories into a viable Senior community.
